The UK Truffle Festival is as much about discovery as it is about taste.
Beyond the talks and demonstrations, our festival marketplace brings together a diverse community of growers, makers, artisans and traders who all share a passion for truffles and nature. From fresh produce and gourmet creations to tools, training and unique gifts, this is where you’ll find the flavours, knowledge and inspiration to take home.
The Real Truffle Hunters
Led by Julie Stopforth, The Real Truffle Hunters is a family-run team with nearly 20 years of experience hunting wild truffles across Europe, including the rare white winter truffle (Tuber magnatum). Julie also runs a popular YouTube channel and is the festival’s official white truffle supplier — taste and buy fresh truffles at her stand on the day.
Black Gold Experiences
Founded by Hajira Ahmad, Black Gold Experiences brings the magic of Italy’s truffle culture to the UK through intimate supper clubs, bespoke adventures, and premium artisan products crafted in small batches with high truffle content. Meet Hajira at the festival to hear her story and explore her elegant range.
The Lagotto Romagnolo Club of Great Britain
Founded in 1996, when the Lagotto Romagnolo was still little-known beyond Italy, the LRCGB introduced the breed to the UK and helped spearhead its spread worldwide. The club follows a strict code of ethics to keep the Lagotto true to type, sound in temperament and robust in health, and is internationally respected for supporting frontline genetic research that protects and broadens the breed’s gene pool.
Honouring the Lagotto’s history as both an ancient duck retriever and a specialist truffle dog, the LRCGB promotes responsible gundog work on land and water and celebrates the breed’s versatility in agility, rally and obedience, as well as its suitability as a family companion.
At the UK Truffle Festival the LRCGB team will be on hand with experienced Lagotti to explain training methods, answer questions on health and breeding, and demonstrate why this keen-nosed Italian breed is the perfect dog for truffle hunting.
Sulis Truffle Hunter
Founded by Dan Head, Sulis Truffle Hunter combines wild truffle hunting with the craft of sustainable tools. With his spaniel, Winnie, Dan searches for British truffles and manages orchards across the UK. He also hand-forges specialist tools designed for shallow soils, minimising disturbance and protecting fragile habitats for future harvests.
Truffe Périgord & Black Diamond Truffle Trees
Eight years ago, Bianca and Chris left corporate life for a farm in Périgord, France — now home to their family-run venture, Black Diamond Truffle Trees. Alongside sustainable cultivation and a Truffle Tree Adoption Scheme, they also supply fresh truffles with the help of their Lagotto, Duggy. This year they introduce Truffe Périgord, a boutique skincare range infused with truffles, showcased in the UK for the first time.
Golden Horn Farm
Golden Horn Farm is a six-acre mushroom farm set on a hilltop beside an old Roman road and a circular copse overlooking the South Downs.
Led by founder James Dodson, the team grows a wide variety of delicious and beneficial mushrooms, cultivating outdoors on logs and indoors in a refurbished 200-year-old barn. Almost everything is kept in-house, from wild strain selection to small-batch tinctures, blending scientific method with creativity and seasonal rhythm. With James, head grower Adrian, and Lawrence (Kaizen Cordyceps), the farm has planted more than 700 trees and now welcomes visitors as the site evolves.
Their range includes carefully made extracts such as Reishi and Lion’s Mane tinctures, reflecting a focus on habitat health and beneficial fungi.
Rough Around the Hedges
Louise Arthur is a basketmaker and teacher based in Hampshire, England UK. She combines contemporary design and heritage skills with her passion for the environment. Her baskets are hand woven from sustainably grown British willow and often incorporate hedgerow plants, foraged fibres and coppiced wood. Welcome to her life on the hedge, weaving people and nature together.
Louise Ferguson Fine Art
An artist for over 40 years, Louise draws inspiration from animals, woodland and the British landscape. Everything changed in 2009 when her first Lagotto, Lola, arrived. Since then she has shown and worked her dogs as gundogs and truffle dogs, and now serves as Chair of the Lagotto Romagnolo Club of Great Britain.
Louise’s recent artwork is rooted in days spent truffle hunting with her Lagotti, celebrating the partnership between handler and dog, the majesty of the trees, and the hidden mycorrhizal world beneath our feet. Meet Louise at the festival, explore her work, and chat all things Lagotto and truffles.
PLAY9
PLAY9 is a local canine enrichment company founded by a small team of family and friends with deep dog know-how and a focus on welfare. Launched a couple of years ago, they designed The Roolo—an innovative treat-dispensing slow feeder whose erratic roll taps into a dog’s prey drive for engaging mental and physical stimulation.
PLAY9 is also introducing a line of 100% raw-meat training treats, ideal for loading into The Roolo. Meet the team at the UK Truffle Festival to see the toy in action, talk enrichment strategies, and pick up training treats for your next scent session
Eats Leaves, Shoots and Weeds
Henrietta believes anyone can benefit from time in nature while learning to safely identify wild edibles and turn them into simple, delicious meals. Her first forage was as a child, nibbling young hawthorn leaves on the school run. A lifelong interest in fungi took off in the 1980s, guided by Food for Free (Richard Mabey) and years of careful study.
Since moving to Lewes in 2007, she’s explored the South Downs, Sussex woodlands and coast, expanding from mushrooms to a broad palette of wild plants. A member of the Association of Foragers, she continues to learn, share and teach through year-round identification walks, practical tips and seasonal recipes.
Jane Hedgewitch
Jane Hedgewitch is a modern hedge witch, wild forager, creating artizan small batch wild herb pestos, raw Seaweed tapenade, Elderberry Immune Syrup, wild fruit and berry jams and anything else she feels inspired to make as the seasons go by.
For over a decade, she’s inspired others to reconnect with nature through foraging, wild swimming, and her beloved meditation circles. From crafting hawthorn and amanita tinctures to teaching about the healing power of nettles, elderflower, and wild garlic, Jane blends the practical and the spiritual-reviving the forgotten hedgerow healing and timeless herbal wisdom we’ve lost since the Industrial Revolution.
Through her talks, workshops, and products, Jane helps people see the countryside with fresh eyes-awakening curiosity, sovereignty, and a deeper sense of belonging to the natural world.
Together by Nature
Together by Nature is the work of Forest, a lifelong nature lover whose earliest memories are of hedgerows, meadows and woodland walks with family and dogs. Childhood days foraging elderflower and blackberries, watching butterflies, and exploring a Kent farm shaped a deep, practical connection to plants and place.
Today, Together by Nature shares that connection through gentle, hands-on learning and thoughtful, plant-led stories that invite people to slow down, notice more, and bring a little wildness into everyday life.

The company sets out to move dogs away from ultra-processed foods toward a natural, whole-food diet, with clear ingredient breakdowns, a raw-feeding guide and calculator to help owners switch with confidence.
The Dog Shop
